   Terme didactique. Changement qui s'opère dans la manière d'être d'une substance.
   Il faut toujours se souvenir que les modifications de l'âme ne peuvent s'exprimer que par des images physiques : on dit la fermeté de l'âme, de l'esprit, VOLT. Dict. phil. Fermeté..

   XVIe s.
