Terme d'école. État où l'on ne pense pas à telle ou telle chose.
•   Par là il pouvait tomber dans quelque négligence et dans ce que l'école appelle incogitance, c'est-à-dire dans un état où l'on ne pense pas à certaines choses, D. DE SUPERVILLE Serm. sur divers textes, t. I (l'Homme perdu par lui-même), 1714.
   Lat. incogitantia, de in privatif, et cogitare, penser (voy. cuider).
