excipient
(è-ksi-pi-an) s. m.
Terme de pharmacie. Substance qui sert à dissoudre ou à incorporer certains médicaments, soit pour leur donner la forme convenable, soit pour en masquer la saveur ou en diminuer l'activité.
   Lat. excipiens, part. prés. de excipere, dans le sens de prendre, recevoir, de ex, et capere prendre (voy. excepter, à l'étymologie).
