debentur
(dé-bin-tur) s. m.
Terme de l'ancienne administration financière. Quittance donnée par les officiers des cours souveraines quand ils recevaient leurs honoraires.
   Cette quittance était ainsi nommée parce qu'elle commençait par ces mots latins : debentur mihi, me sont dus.... de debere, devoir.
