(kon-vè-ksion) s. f.
Terme de physique. Mode de propagation dans lequel la chaleur se transmet d'un point à un autre par suite d'un déplacement des molécules échauffées. Dans les liquides et dans les gaz chauffés par le bas, la chaleur se propage par convection.
   Lat. convectionem, de cum, avec, et vehere, charrier (voy. véhicule).
