1°   Genre d'insectes coléoptères. On y distingue le thamnophile majeur, qui se trouve au Paraguay.
2°   Nom moderne du genre batara, oiseaux insectivores, dans lequel on distingue le thamnophile coraya qui porte à la Guyane le nom vulgaire de coraya, et le thamnophile alapi, appelé à la Guyane alapi, LEGOARANT.
