   Substantivement. Les stigmatisés, nom donné à certains extatiques qui, par une contemplation assidue de la passion de Jésus-Christ, finissent, dit-on, par éprouver des douleurs, des manifestations pathologiques, des stigmates dans les parties du corps où les clous furent enfoncés et où le coup de lance fut porté.
