sciamachie
(si-a-ma-chie) s. f.
Terme de la gymnastique chez les anciens. Sorte d'exercice dans lequel on imitait à vide les mouvements des pugilistes, et qui servait à rendre les jointures plus souples.
   Du grec, ombre, et, combat : combat contre une ombre, parce que les mouvements se faisaient en l'air et sans être dirigés sur quelque chose ou quelqu'un.
