(pré-sè-ption) s. f.
Nom de certaines lettres que donnaient les rois francs.
•   Il y avait bien des lois établies ; mais les rois les rendaient inutiles par de certaines lettres appelées préceptions (c'étaient des ordres que le roi envoyait aux juges pour faire ou souffrir de certaines choses contre la loi) qui renversaient ces mêmes lois, MONTESQ. Espr. XXXI, 2.
•   Il y avait des préceptions personnelles qui mettaient seulement la personne, et non les terres, hors des atteintes de l'autorité ordinaire, NAUDET Instit. Mém. inscr. et belles-lett. t. VIII, p. 499.
•   Ce prince [Childebert] lui donna [à une jeune fille qui avait tué son ravisseur] une préception, et la mit dans sa parole [in verbo suo posita] pour la garantir de toute persécution, NAUDET ib. p. 500.
