2°   Personne qui demande à être reçue dans une maison religieuse.

   Dans la primitive Église.

3°   Autrefois, avocat, procureur, qui pratiquaient, par opposition à ceux qui avaient quitté l'exercice de leurs fonctions ; et aussi procureur, avocat et même praticiens sans titre, qui plaidaient dans les justices inférieures.
