1°   Rétablissement de la paix. La pacification de l'Europe. La pacification des troubles.
•   On tenterait vainement des pacifications sur les controverses, en présupposant qu'il fallût changer quelque chose dans aucun des jugements portés par l'Église, BOSSUET Projet de réunion, 2e part. Lett. XXXV.
   Édits de pacification, plusieurs édits des rois, qui avaient pour but d'apaiser les troubles de religion, dans le XVIe siècle.
•   Le résultat du colloque et des intrigues qui le suivirent fut un édit par lequel les protestants pouvaient avoir des prêches hors des villes ; et cet édit de pacification fut encore la cause de guerres civiles, VOLT. Moeurs, 171.
