1°   Terme de théologie. Qui appartient à la milice de Jésus-Christ.

   L'Église militante, l'assemblée des fidèles sur la terre, par opposition à l'Église triomphante (les saints, les bienheureux), et à l'Église souffrante (les âmes du purgatoire).
