intuition
(in-tu-i-sion ; en vers, de cinq syllabes) s. f.
1°   Terme de théologie. Voy. VISION INTUITIVE.
2°   Terme de philosophie. Connaissance soudaine, spontanée, indubitable, comme celle que la vue nous donne de la lumière et des formes sensibles, et, par conséquent, indépendante de toute démonstration. Vérité d'intuition.
•   Dès qu'il a les idées de ces choses ou les idées attachées aux signes qui les représentent, il voit comme par intuition, si une chose convient, ou ne convient pas à une autre chose, BONNET Ess. analyt. âme, ch. 16.
   Dans le système de Kant, représentation particulière d'un objet, formée dans l'esprit par la sensation. Intuition est opposée à concept.
   Intuition intellectuelle, terme traduit de l'allemand Anschauung, dans le système de Schelling, qui signifie un acte transcendant, indéfinissable, au moyen duquel l'intelligence saisit l'absolu dans son identité, c'est-à-dire tel qu'il est en lui-même, au-dessus de toute distinction et de toute différence, et réunissant dans sa nature absolument simple toutes les oppositions et tous les contraires.
   Par extension, connaissance des choses ordinaires comparée à l'intuition philosophique. Il a eu l'intuition des événements qui se préparaient.
