(in-fli-ksion ; en vers, de quatre syllabes) s. f.
Action d'infliger. L'infliction de certaines privations comme pénitence.
   Terme de jurisprudence. Action d'infliger une peine corporelle et afflictive.
   Ce mot, qui ne se trouve pas dans le Dictionnaire de l'Académie de 1835, était dans celui de 1762 et mérite d'être conservé.
   Lat. inflictionem, de infligere, infliger.
