(a-ksé-ptan, ptant') s. m. et f.

1°   En termes de pratique, celui, celle qui accepte un legs, un don fait par un acte constatant cette acceptation.

•   En présence du donataire et de l'acceptant, LEGOARANT .

2°   En parlant de la bulle Unigenitus, les acceptants et les refusants, ceux qui l'acceptaient et ceux qui la refusaient.

HISTORIQUE

   XVIe s.

•   La grace qu'ils appellent acceptante n'est autre chose que la bonté gratuite du Pere celeste, dont il nous embrasse et reçoit en Jesus-Christ, CALV. Inst. 615.
