   XVIe s.
   L'ulcere simple a une commune indication de curation, à sçavoir exsiccation ; car toute ulcere a besoin de desiccation, PARÉ XI, 5.
   Provenç. exsicatio ; du lat. exsiccare, sécher, de ex, et siccus, sec.
