Terme de médecine. Expulsion du produit de la conception dans les premiers jours de la grossesse.
   XVIe s.
   Quand l'hemorrhagie et soudaine effluxion du sang survient aux ulceres, PARÉ XI, 4.
   Il y a difference entre avortement et effluxion : effluxion c'est quand les semences, premierement conglutinées ensemble par quelques jours, soudainement s'escoulent, PARÉ XVIII, 37.
   Lat. effluxionem, de effluere, couler hors, de ex, et fluere, couler (voy. flux).
