Usure par frottement.
   Leur conservation [des coquilles fossiles] n'est pas moins parfaite ; l'on n'y observe le plus souvent ni détrition ni ruptures, rien qui annonce un transport violent, CUVIER Révol. p. 14.
   Lat. detritio (voy. détriter).
