   Terme d'astronomie. Nom d'une constellation du pôle nord, dite aussi Petite Ourse.
   Fig. Ce qui sert de guide, d'étoile polaire.
   Eux qui l'ont honoré, qui l'ont comblé de présents, qui l'ont regardé comme la Cynosure et comme l'ancre sacrée au plus chaud des tempêtes soulevées contre leurs États, GARASSE Recherche des rech. p. 39, dans LACURNE.
   Peu usité en ce sens.
   Adj. Terme de zoologie. Qui a une queue semblable à celle du chien.
   S. f. Terme de botanique. Genre de graminées dont plusieurs espèces croissent en France et y portent vulgairement le nom de crételles.
   En grec, chien et queue.
