congrève
(kon-grè-v') s. f.
Terme d'artillerie. Fusée à la congrève, fusée qui, garnie d'une mèche inextinguible, lance, en éclatant, d'autres petites fusées très meurtrières.
   Congreve, nom d'un colonel anglais qui a inventé cette sorte de projectiles, et qui naquit en 1760.
