(ko-é-ran, ran-t') adj.
   Qui tient réciproquement ensemble. Les grains du grès sont très cohérents. Les molécules du fer sont bien plus cohérentes que celles du plomb.
   En botanique, étamines cohérentes, étamines qui tiennent les unes aux autres, soit par des poils, soit par une substance glutineuse.
   Fig. Ce discours est cohérent dans toutes ses parties. Rien de moins cohérent que ce mémoire.
   Lat. cohaerens, de cohaerere, être cohérent, de co, et haerere, être attaché (comp. HÉRÉTIQUE).
