(ka-vin) s. m.
1°   Terme militaire. Chemin creux qui tient lieu de tranchée et qui favorise les approches ou la défense.
2°   Terme de géologie. Lieu bas ou petite fondrière.
   XIVe s.
•   Par dedens un cavain [il] se mist privéement, Du Guesclin. 1156.

   XVIe s.
