   Le pendule était installé dans une armoire vitrée, devant le balancier du chronographe électrique, qui inscrivait ses propres oscillations sur une bande de papier ; lorsqu'une coïncidence avait lieu, on marquait l'époque sur la bande de papier en pressant un bouton électrique ; on connaissait ainsi le nombre des oscillations du pendule pendant un temps déterminé ; afin d'évaluer ce temps en secondes, on inscrivait électriquement une suite de tops, sur la bande de papier à des époques lues sur une horloge réglée, CAZIN Acad. des sc.
