(kon-stri-ksion) s. f.
Terme didactique. Action de diminuer le diamètre d'un objet, en exerçant une pression circulaire. Les cravates, les jarretières, les corsets exercent une constriction.
   XVIe s.
   La respiration est faite par dilatation et constriction du thorax, PARÉ II, 1.
   À fin que le dragonneau soit retenu par la constriction [ligature] et ne se rompe point, PARÉ VI, 23.
